Salomé: Erode Philp and Erodiade's daughter. After having danced for her uncle's and step-father Erode Antipa she was granted John the Baptist's head as a prize for he had reproved the union between Antipa and Erodiade. Without any attempt to easy storiography, we believe that the definition of Salomè by the Holy Scriptures comunicates something true about us. Daughter of a man without a soul, Salomè does an act of absolute volupteousness, a liberating and murderous dance, abandonig future sanctity, joining an incestuous orgy witha destiny of everlasting infamy.
Provoking death, she sacrifices herself for a desire bearer of martyr sanctity, accepting in herself a fatal evil, a yell against God himself. Salomè allows faith to become victim and dominio of the weak. A perpetual slavery of the earth'son, she proclaims an eternal disattachment from the children of mud to reach a mute and liberating sky. It's the evil that will eternally propagate itself that Sade dreamt of in his philosophy, the Christianity of false hope, an evil which will keep us prisoners here, a prison horizon as the absolute Evil.
Here we wonder, I don't really know why we actually chose this character, maybe a Dionisiac orgy, an oblivious carnival, that which animates us when we play. Salome Lego Playset (or SLP, or Salome LP) can no longer be apart from our own lives, together, a mask of diversity which we have been wearing for almost six years now and that in some way has protected us from all the rest. Surely an illusion, the thought of a shared life between us and no one else, an elitism of a few which has not attracted sympathies or favours but which has allowed us a sense, a sort of dignity for what we do, a feeling of plan, of projectuality allowing our existences to be in what is nothing.
During all this time there have been more the moments of discomfort, but at least we faced them together and let's hope that it will be like this for a long time.
For us Salome is like a scream, a search for something beautiful in a sea of shit. I'm talking of research because we have never set ourselves any style limitations, genre or whatever. The group itself remains open, our expectations change notwithstanding right or wrong. We often choose improvisation, playing in total indifference or refusal, but we do it for ourselves and escaping the passing of time in front of us, quikly taking away parts of us.
Therefore again Salome, the Lego, the feeling that there is more which is precluded to us in an everyday spctacle, like the colored legobriks building a veil of illusion, Maya, around us and insied us, therefore Playset, a box of toys, the vertigo that things the child fantasizes on and want it as a part of himself.
We formed the group in 2001 when still in highschool, as Nicola (voice then guitar) Jacopo (bass then drums) and Giancarlo (guitar, now Lego/Your Dog for which we created the soundtrack for his short film shot in Argentinia, IEIA). We didn't know how to play, so we just dismanteled what was around us, until a mixture of punk, noise and improvisation. This way with Simone ( Mister Drey ) as well, making a revolting and stupid music because there wasn't any sense in doing anything else. Then came a difficult time in our lives, the break-up and then getting together again. Nicola, Jacopo then Elia (saxophone and objects) and the approach to new sound, then the recording of Contre La Vie Contre La Morte, an album which to us means everything, emotions, thoughts, feelings, pain and joy. Nicola then left for a year in Tokyo and we visited him together with Davide (bass) and played in Tokyo four times for Zombie Forever Records (for which we participated in a compiliation release in Japan this year) and for Senseless Records hachioji, where we played together with writer and noise musician Kenji Siratori. At our return we started playing, first with the still in process recording of a new album, then with radical improvisation concerts together with Susanna Laterza, a young composer from Bologna, with whom we also share several projects such as Achievements, La Stufa, Ortodomie, Derek Dick Decio Lirico Olocausto, Kenji Siratori and others. So we go on.
Our formation is therefore:

Elia Dalla Casa (sax, objects)
Davide Landi (bass, effects)
Plus, often with Susanna Laterza (voice, objects, effects, bass, guitar) and Mister Drey (field recording, drones, tapes)

Dopo aver danzato per lo zio e il patrigno Erode Antipa, ottenne in premio la testa di Giovanni Battista, il quale aveva biasimato l'unione di Antipa con Erodiade.
Senza tentativi di storicizzazione spicciola, crediamo che la definizione delle Sacre Scritture di Salomè comunichi qualcosa di veritiero sul nostro conto. Figlia di un uomo senz'anima, Salomè compie un atto di voluttà assoluta, una danza liberatrice ed omicida, profanando una santità futura, unendosi in un incestuoso baccanale con un destino di infamia imperitura. Provacandone la morte, sacrifica se stessa per un desiderio portatore di santità martire, accogliendo in se' un male totale, un grido contro Dio stesso, Salomè permette alla fede di farsi vittima e dominio dei deboli. Una schiavitù perpetua ai figli della terra, proclama un distacco eterno dalla prole del fango, per assurgere ad un cielo muto e liberatorio. E' quel male che si propagherà in eterno che sognava Sade nella sua Filosofia, il cristianesimo delle false speranze, un male che ci terrà imprigionati qui, un orizzonte carcerario, il Male assoluto quindi.
Qui divaghiamo, non so bene perchè poi abbiamo scelto questa figura, forse appunto un dionisiaco baccanale, un carnevale immemore, quello che ci anima quando suoniamo, i Salomè Lego Playset (o SLP, o Salome Lp) non possono esser più disgiunti dalla nostra stessa vita, insieme, una maschera di diversità che indossiamo, da 6 anni ormai, e che in qualche modo ci ha difeso da tutto il resto. Un'illusione sì, il pensiero di una vita condivisa, fra di noi e nessun'altro, un elitismo di pochi che non ci ha attirato simpatie o favori, ma che ci ha permesso un senso, una dignità per quello che facciamo, un senso appunto di progettualità che permette alla nostra esistenza di essere in ciò che non è nulla.
Nel tempo sono stati più i momenti di sconforto, ma almeno li abbiamo affrontati insieme e speriamo che possa esser così a lungo.
Salomè per noi è un grido, una ricerca di qualcosa di bello in un mare di merda. Parlo appunto di ricerca perchè non ci siamo mai imposti limiti di stile, genere o qualsivoglia. La formazione stessa rimane aperta, le istanza cambiamo, al di là del giusto o sbagliato. Spesso scegliamo l'improvvisazione, suoniamo nell'indifferenza generale, o nel rifiuto, ma lo facciamo per noi stessi ed esprimere il tempo che ci passa di fronte e che velocemente porta via parti di noi.
Quindi ancora Salomè, poi Lego, la sensazione che ci sia altro che però di è precluso in uno spettacolo senza fine, come i mattoncini colorati a costruire un velo di illusioni, Maya, attorno e dentro di noi, e quindi Playset, una scatola di giochi, la vertigine che porta il bambino a fantasticare sull'oggetto e volerlo come parte di sè.
Nasciamo nel 2001 circa, alle superiori, come Nicola (voce e poi chitarra), Jacopo (basso e poi batteria) e Giancarlo (chitarra, ora Lego/your Dog, per il quale abbiamo realizzato la colonna sonora del cortometraggio argentino IEIA). Non sapevamo suonare, quindi abbiamo decostruito ciò che c'era attorno, fino ad un miscuglio di punk, noise ed improvvisazione. Così poi con Simone, realizzando una musica schifosa e stupida perchè non v'era senso nel fare null'altro. Poi un periodo difficile nelle nostre vite, lo scioglimento e il ricongiungimento, Nicola e Jacopo, poi Elia (sax ed oggetti), e l'avvicinamento al altri suoni, quindi la registrazione di "Contre La Vie, Contre La Morte" un album che per noi significa tutto, emozioni, pensieri, sentimenti, dolori e felicità.
Nicola è poi partito per un anno in Giappone, e lo abbiamo raggiunto insieme a Davide (basso), e abbiamo suonato 4 volte a Tokyo per quelli della Zombie Forever Records (per la quale siamo usciti in una compilation uscita quest'anno in Giappone) e del negozio di dischi Senseless Records, e in cui abbiamo suonato insieme allo scrittore e musicista noise Kenji Siratori. Al ritorno abbiamo ricominciato, prima con la registrazione tutt'ora in corso di un nuovo album, poi con concerti di improvvisazione radicale insieme a Susanna Laterza, un giovane compositore e improvvisatore di Bologna, con quale abbiamo iniziato anche diversi progetti, quali Achievements, La Stufa, Ortodomie, e altri. E così continuamo.
